This policy explains how RankMeOnTop ("we", "us", "our") handles personal information when you visit this website or engage us for services. It applies to https://rankmeontop.in/ and to the marketing services we deliver to clients.

1. Who we are

RankMeOnTop is a digital marketing agency based in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, India. For any question about this policy or your data, contact us at sales@rankmeontop.in or +91 81148 78828. We are the data fiduciary for information collected through this website.

2. What we collect

2.1 Information you give us

When you submit the enquiry form on this site, we collect:

  • Name — so we can address you properly.
  • Company name (optional) — to understand your business context.
  • Email address — to send our reply and your growth audit.
  • Mobile number — to contact you about your enquiry.
  • Service of interest and budget range — to route your enquiry to the right specialist and prepare a relevant response.
  • Your message — whatever you choose to tell us.

If you contact us by email, phone or WhatsApp instead, we hold whatever you share in that conversation.

2.2 Information collected automatically

When you submit an enquiry we also record:

  • IP address — for security, abuse prevention and rate limiting.
  • Browser user agent — to diagnose technical problems.
  • Referring page — to understand which of our channels brought you here.
  • Submission timestamp — for our records.

2.3 Cookies

This website sets a single, strictly necessary cookie: a signed session cookie that secures forms against cross-site request forgery, and keeps administrators signed in to the private admin area. It carries no advertising identifier and does not track you across other websites.

We do not currently deploy advertising or analytics cookies on this site. If that changes, we will update this policy and ask for your consent first.

2.4 Third-party services

To keep the site fast, some assets load from content delivery networks — Google Fonts, jsDelivr, unpkg and Cloudflare. When your browser fetches those files, those providers necessarily receive your IP address and user agent, as they would for any website using them. We share nothing else with them.

If you click our WhatsApp button, you leave this site and WhatsApp's own privacy policy governs that conversation.

3. Why we use your information

  • To answer your enquiry — the reason you contacted us.
  • To prepare your growth audit — the deliverable you requested.
  • To deliver our services — where you become a client.
  • To improve what we offer — understanding which services are in demand.
  • To protect the site — detecting spam and abuse.
  • To meet legal obligations — tax, accounting and statutory record-keeping.

We rely on your consent (given when you submit the form), the necessity of performing a contract with you, and our legitimate interest in running and securing our business.

4. What we will never do

  • We will never sell your personal information. To anyone. At any price.
  • We will never rent or trade your details to a marketing list.
  • We will never add you to a newsletter you did not ask for.
  • We will never use your data for a purpose you would not reasonably expect.

5. Who we share it with

We share personal information only with:

  • Our own team — the specialists working on your enquiry or account.
  • Service providers — our hosting and email providers, who process data strictly on our instructions and are bound by confidentiality.
  • Authorities — where we are legally compelled to disclose.

If you are a client and we operate advertising or analytics platforms on your behalf, the data in those platforms is governed by your agreement with us and by each platform's own terms.

6. How long we keep it

  • Enquiries that don't become clients — up to 24 months, then deleted.
  • Client records — for the engagement plus 8 years, as Indian tax and accounting law requires.
  • Server logs — a rolling window of recent sessions, automatically pruned.

You can ask us to delete your information sooner — see section 7.

7. Your rights

Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 — and, where it applies to you, the GDPR — you can ask us to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correct anything inaccurate or incomplete.
  • Erase your information where we have no overriding legal reason to keep it.
  • Withdraw consent at any time, without affecting processing already carried out.
  • Object to or restrict how we process your information.
  • Receive a copy of your data in a portable, machine-readable format.
  • Nominate someone to exercise these rights if you are unable to.

Email sales@rankmeontop.in and we will respond within 30 days. There is no charge. We may ask you to verify your identity first — that protects you, not us.

8. How we protect it

Concretely, this website:

  • hashes every administrator password with a salted, memory-hard algorithm, so passwords are never stored in a readable form;
  • protects every form against cross-site request forgery;
  • uses parameterised database queries, which prevent SQL injection;
  • sends hardening headers that block clickjacking, MIME-sniffing and script injection;
  • rate limits form submissions and sign-in attempts to frustrate automated attacks;
  • restricts access to enquiry data to authenticated staff accounts only.

No system is perfectly secure, and anyone claiming otherwise is selling something. If a breach ever affects your data, we will notify you and the Data Protection Board of India as the law requires.

9. Children

Our services are for businesses. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

10. International transfers

We are based in India and store data in India. Some providers (such as our email and CDN providers) may process data on servers elsewhere, under appropriate safeguards.

11. Changes to this policy

We will update this page when our practices change, and revise the "last updated" date above. Material changes affecting how we use your data will be communicated directly where we hold your contact details.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India, or to your local supervisory authority if you are in the EU or UK. We would much rather you gave us the chance to put it right first.
